Overview

Herb Kleinberger will be teaching MKTG 225 and MKTG 725, Principals of Retailing, during the 2020 spring semester in Quarter 3.

A longstanding retail industry consultant, Herb has more than 25 years of experience working with retailers on business, operations and IT strategy.

He spent most of his career leading the retail consulting practice of Price Waterhouse/PwC Consulting and joined IBM in 2002 when PwC sold their consulting business to IBM. While at IBM he was global leader for the retail strategy practice and was responsible for publishing several landmark whitepapers on the future of the retailing industry.

Herb was an adjunct professor at the NYU Stern School of Business for 10 years where he taught an M.B.A. class in retailing. He is currently a senior advisor to a venture fund called Staley Capital, which focuses on retail and consumer technology and he sits on the board of one of their portfolio companies called 4R Systems. He is also an advisor to several early stage retail technology companies.

A graduate of the State University of New York with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Herb also received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and has attended the advanced management program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School.
